My name is Mel Koppier and this is my first year at Reremoana School.
I am originally from "shaky" Christchurch where I was born and raised. Aside from the two years I spent living and working in Australia, I have lived in Christchurch my whole life until now in which I call Auckland home. I attended the University of Canterbury where I got my degree in Teaching and Learning and spent 2015 as a relief teacher to a variety of schools located around Christchurch. This was a very fulfilling and rewarding experience for me as a newly graduated teacher!
My family are still in Christchurch and I aim to get back there for a few days every holidays. I am fortunate enough to have my grandparents so close as they live on Great Barrier Island which I try to get out to every other weekend.
My passions lie in literacy and the arts. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm with the students and getting them as excited as I do! I believe both these areas allow student to express themselves in unique and individual ways.
I have an open door policy before and after school in Room 15 (except on Monday and Tuesday after school when we have staff meetings) but I am always contactable via email. firstname.lastname@example.org. I am excited about the 2016 school year and I look forward to meeting you all!!
